I remember, as a child, my Mother and Daddy listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio every Saturday night. There was Zeke Clements, Roy Acuff, Eddie Arnold, Hank Williams, Minnie Pearl and Rod Brassfield. When Minnie came to the mike, saying, "Howdy. I'm so proud to be here", my Mother and Daddy would smile and listen to her oft told jokes. Then Rod Brassfield would come on and if it were cold outside, he would always say, "ain't so hot tonight, is it?" My Daddy would laugh out loud as he slapped his knee. The Grand Ole Opry has many fond memories for me but the best were the times, as a young child, I listened on the radio with my Mother and Daddy. I know they're listening "up there" now and they are smiling. So, as Bob Hope sang, I say to the Grand Ole Opry, "thanks for the memories."

When Taylor Swift first came on the scene as a country music entertainer, I have to admit, I was not impressed. I have since changed my opinion and she is, now, one of my favorite entertainers. Ms. Swift is brilliant when it comes to creating a show for her fans. I read that she chooses the stage effects, the musicians and back-up singers for her performances. But the biggest thing that prompts my admiration for Taylor Swift is her relationship with her fans. I have noticed that every time she appears on t.v., she takes time to mix with her fans. I also read that she has set aside 13 hours to give autographs at the CMA event at LP field. She seems to realize that the fans are responsible for her gigantic success and thanks them when possible. For this, I now rate her as one of my most admired entertainers.
